Tori Rose Hunter

About : About

Victoria “Tori” Hunter is an American screenwriter, director, and script supervisor based in Chattanooga, TN. Growing up as a competitive multi-sport athlete, she never imagined herself to be a filmmaker one day but a coach. She spent the first two decades of her life playing year-round travel softball and living great comeback stories rather than writing them. After playing for two years in college, she found filmmaking and redirected her life in its pursuit, not neglecting to take her strong work ethic and ability to be a team player with her.

After writing and directing many short films during her time at the University of Georgia, she went into script supervising and learning under directors such as Alex Kendrick, Tammy Lane, Brian Herzlinger, Ellen S. Pressman, Shari Rigby, the Nelms brothers, and Brock Heasley.

Her very first time script supervising was on the SONY AFFIRM FILMS’ feature film, Overcomer, as an example of her ability to rise to filmmaking challenges under great responsibility. Her storytelling abilities have since been exponentially strengthened through this invaluable experience of communicating with others and managing a large load of details and filmmaking elements in the high-pressure environment of script supervising. She also strengthened her ability to work with actors through two years of weekly acting classes at Insight Actors Studio in Atlanta, Georgia.

She recently directed The Christmas Letter as her feature directorial debut with Randy Quaid, Chevy Chase, and Brian Doyle-Murray. A lover of good stories in all mediums, Tori recently optioned the rights to a beloved novel and has begun developing the adaptation as her feature directorial debut. Her goal with everything she does is to always use the imagination of her inner child and the wisdom of her outer adult to shine a light on what it truly means to have hope in all stories.
